Events in Johannesburg

Johannesburg is the busiest events city in the country, with something on every weekend. Corporate launches, awards dinners and year-end functions fill hotels and venues in Rosebank, Braamfontein and the northern suburbs, while Soweto hosts big family celebrations, traditional ceremonies, church gatherings and weekend braais in yards and halls. Garden weddings happen in leafy suburbs like Melville, Parkhurst and Houghton, and expos and exhibitions use the large halls at Nasrec. Summer is peak season, but Highveld afternoon storms are common, so covered areas and marquees matter. Planners and hire companies are spread across the city, with many based in the south and west of town.

What does jumping castle hire cost in Johannesburg?
It depends on the date, guest numbers, the venue and what is included. As a rough guide: R500 to R2,500 per party for a castle, water slides and adult castles cost more. Send your brief and a jumping castle company serving Johannesburg will quote you.
How far ahead should I book in Johannesburg?
For jumping castle hire: 2 to 4 weeks ahead, longer for weekends. Locally: book 3 to 6 months ahead for summer Saturdays and December functions. Saturdays in spring, the matric dance season and December book out first, so send your brief as soon as you have a date.
Do hire companies in Johannesburg deliver and set up?
Most quote delivery, setup and collection as part of the hire, with travel charged by distance from their depot. Say whether the venue has truck access, power and a flat surface. For a planner to coordinate everything, see event management in Johannesburg.
Do you run the event yourselves?
No. We don't plan, hire out or cater anything. We pass your brief to independent event companies, planners, hire companies and caterers, who quote you directly. Give the date, guest numbers and venue so the quotes are easy to compare.
