Events in Randfontein

Randfontein is a West Rand town where community life drives most events. Churches, schools and halls in the town centre, Mohlakeng and Toekomsrus host weddings, traditional ceremonies, birthday parties, funerals and fundraisers, and families often hire tents, chairs and sound for yard gatherings. Smallholdings and farms on the edge of town offer open space for larger celebrations and country weddings, and the nearby Magaliesberg and Cradle of Humankind venues are within reach. Companies hold year-end functions at local clubs and guest lodges. Hire companies work from the industrial area and Aureus, with Krugersdorp suppliers close by. Summer storms and cold winter nights both matter for outdoor plans.

Typical catering services requests in the area come from:

• Funerals, church and cultural gatherings: funeral, unveiling and church meals served in large pots to a big crowd
• Weddings and traditional ceremonies: a plated or buffet dinner, canapes at the cocktail hour and a cake table for 80 to 200 guests
• Birthdays and private parties: a braai, finger food or a sit-down dinner at home, a hall or a restaurant
• School events and matric dances: prize-giving teas, matric dance dinners and fun day food stalls for a school hall
• Corporate functions and year-end parties: working lunches, launch canapes and year-end buffets with staff and a bar
• Kids' parties and baby showers: party food, cupcakes and snack boxes for the children and a light meal for the adults
• Festivals, markets and sports days: food stalls, a main caterer and a hot meal for the crew at a market or concert
